Our 6/20/14 trip to St Augustine

We just returned from a 4 day stay at Grande Villas in St. Augustine.  This is one of our favorite resorts in Florida and is less than a 2 hour drive for us.  This time we stayed in room 447, which was a deluxe 1 bedroom on the 4th floor of building 4.  The deluxe is the largest 1 bedroom that they have.  This one bedroom is approx. 920 SF.  It features a King in the master room and a sofa bed in the living room. There is a full bath and a full kitchen.  Amenities include a screened balcony/patio, tub w/jets and washer/dryer.

The kitchen was spacious and well equipped with fairly new appliances.  The was plenty of counter space and storage space.  We usually prepare meals at most resorts we stay at.  In fact, we have celebrated Thanksgiving twice at this resort.  Here’s a picture of the kitchen area.

This particular unit had a skylight in the living room which added a nice touch. A sliding glass door led out to the screened balcony overlooking the golf course.  It was pleasant having coffee there in the morning but this time of year it soon became to warm to sit too long.  There was a table and 4 chairs on the balcony.

The master bedroom had a door to the screened balcony and a jetted tub in addition to a shower in a separate area.  Having 2 bathroom sinks is always a plus.

The pool area was well kept.  It was fairly busy as was the hot tub.  The whole area was closed one night because of an “incident” that required super shock.  Didn’t ask for the details but it was open again in the morning.

My biggest complaint about this stay was that the wifi was terrible.  I don’t remember that being a problem in the past.  I had AT&T check the setup but they couldn’t find a problem.  I never actually asked resort personnel to check into it.  Maybe resetting the router would have fixed it but I didn’t feel like getting into it with anybody.

All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay there and look forward to returning.
