Grande Villas in St Augustine is the very first place we ever stayed with Bluegreen. Our first impression was phenomenal when we walked into our one bedroom suite. At 930 square feet it was slightly smaller than my 3 bedroom house was when I first moved to Florida. We had a 1 bedroom Deluxe. They offer a standard, luxury and deluxe layout, the deluxe being the largest. The place was well laided out with plenty of kitchen space, dining area, living room and a huge bedroom and bath. There was a jetted whirlpool in the bedroom in addition to a tub and shower.
The kitchen had all the appliances needed to prepare almost any kind of meal if you didn’t want to eat out. We always fix most of our meals ourselves when we are at a Bluegreen Resort, occasionally going to a restaurant. There are a couple of restaurants near the resort, but not a lot to choose from. We tend to be kind of thrifty so usually prepare our meals ourselves.
This resort allows you to check out dvds from their collection. They also have a good selection of games you can check out, a pool table, ping pong, bikes , volleyball, basketball and other things to do. They have a much larger selection of things to do than any other resort we have stayed at. The pool is ideal for children because it starts out at zero depth and goes to about 4 feet with a waterfall. The is also a hot tub in the pool area and a small playground nearby.
The resort is about 20 minutes from downtown St. Augustine, actually on the west side of I-95. It is just 5 minutes or so from I-95 which is very convenient for getting around. There is plenty to do in St. Augustine, especially if you enjoy history. I’ll cover more of that in another post.
